The History of Spartans

The Spartan Aircraft Company was an American aircraft manufacturing company headquartered near the airport in Tulsa, Ok. The company was known for its luxurious Spartan Executive Aircraft produced in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s. During World War II the company made a military version called the “Zeus”. Spartan also built navy trainers and airplane parts for other manufacturers during the war. After World war II the Spartan Aircraft Company ended aircraft production and converted the company to manufacturing trilers under the Spartan Manor brand. It was the “Cadillac” of trailers, using the unique fuselage design and aluminum skin that had been used in Spartan’s airplanes.

Spartan produced trailers spanning from the 1940’s to the 1960’s. They were built to last. Many Spartan trailers are still around and being restored just like you will find at the Teepee Drive-In.
